LINCOLN PARK RESIDENCE

Clever use of space for a modest house

The complete gut renovation and deconversion of a 2 flat into a single-family residence for a young couple, entailed many program requirements for the modest size house.

1st Floor devised with overlapping spaces provide the overall sense of openness, making the house feel larger than it actually is.

The 1st Floor Library situated at the heart of the house serves as a private contemplative space, or transforms into an extension of the Living/Dining Room for parties when both shoji screens are open.

One can personalize and toggle between externally or inwardly focused space depending on mood and needs.
